PAST PRESIDENT (2003-2006) Thomas F. Aichele is the Vice President of the Central Division in the Passenger Sales department for American Airlines. He began his career with American Airlines as an Account Executive in 1987 in Washington, D.C. and subsequently served as Caribbean National Account Manager for Cargo Sales in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1992, he joined the Passenger Sales Division of American Airlines as District Sales Manager, Los Angeles. In 1994, he was named Country Director, Passenger Sales and Marketing for Canada. Two years later, he became the Managing Director for Chicago where he had responsibilities for sales and marketing. Tom was promoted to his present position in April, 2007. Aichele graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with an emphasis on business logistics. He studied international business at the University of Köln, Cologne, Germany. In June of 2008, he graduated from the Kellogg School of Management where he received his degree from Kellogg’s Executive MBA program. Prior to joining American Airlines, he also lived in the Dominican Republic for two years working as a small business consultant for the Peace Corps. He sits on the Boards of Directors of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, Chicago Botanic Garden, German American Chamber of Commerce and the British-American Business Council, where he also served as past president (2003-2006). He is a Trustee at The Goodman Theatre. In addition, he sits on the Advisory boards for Instituto Cervantes, Clearbrook and his children’s school. Tom and his wife, Pat, have three children and reside in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
