SECRETARY
Scott Markman has
25 years of experience in launching and repositioning brands, including the
last 16 as President of The Monogram Group. His responsibilities include new
business development, brand strategy and financial oversight of the agency.
Monogram’s clients include ACCO Brands, Baker & McKenzie, Chicago Symphony
Orchestra, Fiskars Brands, Oakmark Mutual Funds, Sam’s Wines & Spirits,
Victory Gardens Theater and University of Chicago.
Before forming Monogram, he spent five years as Senior Art Director for R.
S. Jensen, a prestigious corporate design firm in Baltimore, and one year as
Senior Designer/Project Manager for Bagby & Co. in Chicago. Prior to
relocating in Chicago, Scott also worked for two major corporate identity
firms in Australia.
He has lectured at the Smithsonian Institution and the Commercial Investment
Real Estate Institute, and his work has been cited for design excellence by
The New American Logo, Creativity 27, American Corporate Identity, Print
Magazine, Graphic Design: USA, Advertising Association of Baltimore, and the
International Association of Business Communicators.
Scott has been a Board Member of the British-American Business Council
Chicago since 1995. In addition, he was a member of The Presidents¹ Forum, a
consortium of business owners, from 1995 through 1999.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1981 from Washington
University in St. Louis, with a concentration in marketing. He lives in
Chicago with his wife Sharon, and his children Leland and Alexa.
