EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Christine Brenkus' experience is in association management, which includes eight years as Executive Director of the BABC Chicago. Ms. Brenkus works closely with the Board of Directors and their sub-committees to implement and manage the policies, programs, services, and events of the Council. In addition, she manages the day-to-day operations of the Council's extensive member organization, fundraising, as well as builds and maintains relationships with the British-Consulate General, Chicago, and other pertinent international societies and groups.

Before joining the BABC Chicago, Ms. Brenkus served with the The Association Forum of Chicagoland as Director of Membership and Career Services;  The American Economic Development Council as both General Manager and Director of Membership & Marketing; and seven years with the National Association of REALTORS® as Manager of Membership for the Specialties Section.

Ms. Brenkus also served four years with the U.S. State Department Foreign Service and was posted at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations (Humanitarian Affairs) in Geneva, Switzerland, where she participated in a Kurdish resettlement, and at the U.S. Embassy (Political Office) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. While serving in Ethiopia, she received The Meritorious Award  from the U.S. State Department for her exemplary service at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during a time of intense civil war.

Ms. Brenkus earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University in 1997, with an emphasis in business management.

In 2002 Christine was the recipient of the Steve Foley Rolls Royce & Bentley Award presented in recognition of excellence. Prior awards include the Management Executive Achievement Award from the Association Forum of Chicagoland (1992) and the Excellence in Management Award from the American Society of Association Executives, New York (1992). Both awards are presented to a management executive member for outstanding service and accomplishments in association management.

Ms. Brenkus is a native of Chicago and has a daughter, Melissa.
