Rupert is a principal in KPMG’s International Corporate Services practice. He is based in Chicago, and works out of the Chicago and St Louis offices. Rupert has spent 13 years practicing US tax. He started his career in the Birmingham, UK office, where he spent 9 years.
He has advised a wide variety of US and foreign multinational corporations on tax issues associated with IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, disposals and restructurings, principally in the private equity, manufacturing and energy sectors.
Rupert is a frequent speaker on international tax planning matters and has spoken on a wide variety of tax plannning topics at forums such as CITE and the St Louis International Tax Group. He has authored numerous articles of interest to US based and non-US based multinationals.
He is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Rupert began his career in audit. After qualifying in 1991, he transferred to the tax department and specialized in international tax. He spent two years (May 1996 – April 1998) on rotation to the US tax practice.
