Mr. Ryan has overall responsibility in the Midwest for the firm’s services which
include Tenant Representation, Agency Leasing, Property Management, Project and
Development Services, Capital Markets, and Construction. Mr. Ryan is accountable
for the firms operations and business results in the Midwest as well as developing
and implementing strategic initiatives. He also maintains and develops key client
relationships with owners and occupiers of real estate.
Experience
Prior to his current position, Mr. Ryan was the Midwest/Southeast Regional Director
overseeing the Tenant Representation and Agency Leasing and Management business
lines. Mr. Ryan also served as Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Leasing and
Management business where he had profit and loss responsibility for this business line
(80 million s.f. office), which generated approximately $60 million in annual revenues
and included a staff of 275 professionals and 700 on-site property employees.
Prior to his COO position, Mr. Ryan worked for over nine years in the firm’s corporate
Tenant Representation group as a broker and was also responsible for the management
of transaction teams in Chicago and Minneapolis. He also led several strategic client
relationships including Convergys Corporation, 3M, St. Paul Travelers and Huron
Consulting.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Ryan worked for IBM for nine years where
he held several sales and management positions. Mr. Ryan also spent two years
with XL Datacomp, a division of Storage Technology Corporation, as Director of
Marketing Programs and Assistant to the President.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Ryan earned a bachelor of science in finance from Miami University in Oxford,
Ohio and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
University. Mr. Ryan is a licensed Illinois real estate salesperson, and a member of
the Economic Club of Chicago and the Executive’s Club of Chicago. He is on the
Board of Directors of the Chicago British American Business Council and The Cara
Program, and was the 2010 City of Hope Spirit of Life Award Honoree.
