Ms. Shearn graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a B.A. degree in International Relations in 1991. She has been a member of Phi Beta Kappa since 1991 and was named a Harold C. Case scholar while at BU. Ms. Shearn expanded her international and human rights law experience through her positions at the Interparliamentary Union and the UN’s International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
Ms. Shearn obtained her J.D. (cum laude) from The American University, Washington College of Law in 1996. She was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1996 and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Ms. Shearn has lectured on immigration related topics during conferences presented by the American Council on International Personnel. Her articles have appeared in client publications and in AILA’s 2001 New York Chapter Immigration Law Symposium Handbook. Ms. Shearn is proficient in French.
