RAYMOND VERMOLEN
General Manager, InterContinental Chicago
Raymond Vermolen was appointed General Manager of the luxurious InterContinental Chicago in November 2011.
Prior to the appointment in Chicago, Raymond was the General Manager of the InterContinental Houston in April 2009, General Manager of the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City in February 2008 and was the Hotel Manager in Los Angeles since the pre-opening January 2008. Raymond received IHG’s “2007 Best of the Best, Executive Assistant Manager of the Year” award at the Dallas Leadership conference in November of 2007.
With 21 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry, Raymond has a strong background in both F&B and Operations and many years of international experience in Lebanon, Egypt, Greece, France and Netherlands. Raymond has been with InterContinental Hotels Group since 1995 where he began his career as the Duty Manager at the Amstel InterContinental Amsterdam. Before moving to Los Angeles last year, he was the Hotel Manager at InterContinental The Barclay in New York where he was responsible for the operation of the hotel.
Raymond is a Dutch National, married and has two children. Raymond received his MBA from Henley Management College, Henley-on-Thames, United Kingdom in 2001.
